Dolores was brought up in and amongst dusty antiques and curious old things from Eastern Europe and Austria. Her father, Gert Snel, was her mentor and the reason that she fell in love with folk art. He opened her eyes to the world of antiques & craftmanship and taught her how to make this passion her life’s quest. Her love for travel, traditions and design started at a young age, and leapt beyond Europe to countries such as Indonesia, China and India. She was known to her suppliers as the rebellious girl with the blue eyes. They would say ‘A good eye sees beauty where others cannot’. Hence the Blue Rebel.

Dolores has a great love and respect for the craftsmanship that is reflected in the unique furniture and objects that are found in her showroom. She loves to mix different styles and colours, materials and eras … she is not afraid to try new combinations and revels in making bold statements.
